Simon Perry, the producer of Another Time, Another Place
"Another Time, Another Place was truly a first picture for a lot of those involved. Not just for Michael Radford and myself, but also for Roger Deakins, the director of photography, and for Phyllis Logan and almost all of the cast. Mike and I have made more expensive films since then - Nineteen Eighty Four, White Mischief - and Mike's Italian venture Il Postino has proved to be his most succesful film yet. But I still think Another Time, Another Place is his best picture, and mine."
Simon Perry 1996
As well as working with Radford, Perry has produced many other feature films - Richard Eyre's Loose Connections starring Stephen Rea, Gilles MacKinnon's The Playboys starring Albert Finney and Aiden Quinn, and Innocent Lies starring Stephen Dorff. He also produced two films in France Hotel Du Paradis and Nanou starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Imogen Stubbs.
He is currently chief executive of British Screen Finance, making him one of the most important and influential figures shaping 1990's British cinema.
