Filmed in Manchester and Blackpool and financed in Lancashire, Bob's Weekend filmmaker Jevon O'Neill was told by everyone that his film was too Northern and would not even appeal to southerners let alone foreigners.

Following awards and favourable reviews at film festivals around the world and a great public response the film is now released by guerilla films in the UK and Paramount Pictures in the rest of the world. It is one of the few completed films that the Hollywood major has acquired in its entire history.
